about

This 1986 game adapted from the film King Kong Lives, by John Guillermin, is obscure because it was launched only for MSX2 and not translated from japanese (now english, french and spanish versions of the ROM can be found). It's a remarkable adventure game mixing the Zelda style with RPG elements and it diserved to be ported to other systems, but Konami was probably put off by the movie's flop and distastrous reputation.

The background music loops after less than a minute. It was composed by Motoaki Furukawa, well known composer and guitarist from Konami's staff who regularly plays his music on stage with the band Kukeiha Club. The arrangement ventures in the hard-rock field and keeps the original high tempo.
