The name Rygar refers to three different games by Tecmo but this cover deals exclusively with the 1986 arcade game that featured an exceptional gameplay (so good that it made up for the quite simplistic level-design, compared to the NES follow-up) and funky musics that didn't fit at all with the mythologic visuals of the game but proved perfectly apt to emphasize the visceral sensations felt when playing.

This cover revisits the themes heard during various parts of the game, including a very nice melody that played while the player was entering his initials at the first rank of the high-score table. Very few players listened to it completely at the time. Composer Tsukasa Masuko is mainly known for the Megami Tensei series by Atlus, but he made his first steps at Tecmo.
